Here users can nominate and vote for Metroid Wikis next featured picture. Featured pictures should:

  1. Depict a Metroid-related subject.
  2. Carry the appropriate image templates denoting copyright information.
  3. Be of a reasonably high resolution AND/OR
  4. Be of a high quality in terms of detail and rendering
  5. Meet all other criteria of Metroid Wiki's Image Quality Standards

Rules:

  1. A picture needs the approval of five users with at least one staff vote, OR two admins votes in its favor, in order to be marked as featured.
  2. The user who makes the nomination is included as one of the five necessary votes.
  3. Both users and staff may make a maximum of one approval, nomination or disapproval per calendar week.
  4. You may not approve of a picture which you have nominated, or for which you have already previously approved.
  5. Votes should be added in order beneath the respective relevant header (either {{support}} or {{oppose}}), with # at the beginning of the line.
  6. A maximum of six Currently Nominated images are allowed at any given time. Please do not nominate a new image if there are already six nominees.
  7. All approvals MUST be signed using ~~~~. If you do not sign your opinion or second, your comments WILL NOT be counted!
  8. Be sure to include a brief message stating why you agree that an image should be featured. "Stub" votes (e.g. "I like this image", or "<character shown> is great") may be deemed invalid and discounted.

If a picture should receive two valid user votes in opposition, it will not be featured, once verified by a staff member.

Proper Opposition Guidelines:

  1. You may make a single vote opposing any nominated picture (with no monthly restrictions). These should be reasoned oppositions based upon the qualifying criteria detailed.
  2. Your personal like or dislike of the subject being depicted is NOT grounds for opposition.
  3. Oppositions to images should only be used for reasons such as the following:
a. Low-resolution
b. Poor quality images (e.g. blurry, visible compression artifacts etc.)
c. Poorly cropped/rendered
d. An image depicting a similar subject is already featured
e. The image is just one in a series of many images of similar nature

If a staff member deems that a particular opposition does not follow these guidelines, it will be negated.

Important Notice: Qualifications to Vote
The goal of the Featured Content selection process is ensure that only the best quality articles and pictures are showcased. To help ensure that this remains the case, the voting process is only open to autoconfirmed users. Any user who has been registered for longer than 7 days will automatically be promoted to autoconfirmed status after having made 20 edits. The introduction of this measure also safeguards against abuse of the voting process, by users creating multiple accounts in order to vote more than once.

Samus Versus the Ing

  1. I think the artist has really captured the essence of Echoes in this image. It's dark, eerie, and claustrophobic - Samus herself is what seems to be illuminating her Ing opponents, even as she crouches away from the darkest corners of the image. It's absolutely brilliant. It makes you feel as though there's no way out, and it's probably the darkness, not the enemies, that's confining her. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 04:48, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
  2. I think this one is the best choice becuase it shows how dark Samus' path get, litterly. It shows the darkness of the situation, the darkness of the world of Dark Aether, and it shows how dark her chances is. This is a perfect illistration of the game Metroid Prime 2 Echoes.--Arcwarioman 20:28, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
