Retro Studios (commonly known as Retro) is a game developing company based in North America. Retro is well-known for creating the highly-acclaimed Metroid Prime series of video games, besides Metroid Prime Hunters and the Donkey Kong Country Returns series.
The corporation is based in Austin, Texas of the United States. Retro Studios is in alliance with Nintendo Company, Ltd. In January 2015 a Retro Studios Twitter account was created. However, there is no solid evidence on whether the account is fan-made or not.
