Retro Studios (commonly referred to as Retro) is a game developing company based in North America. Retro is best known for creating the highly-acclaimed Metroid Prime series (excluding Metroid Prime Hunters), and reviving the Donkey Kong series.

The corporation is based in Austin, Texas, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nintendo Company, Ltd.[1]
