A Federation PED Marine is a Galactic Federation Marine armed with a Phazon Enhancement Device. Samus first encounters them on Norion where they are aiding her to repel a Space Pirate attack while Samus, Rundas, Ghor, and Gandrayda try to activate the Energy Cannon to destroy the incoming Leviathan meteor.
The PED Marines serve as a demonstration of the devastating power of Phazon. PED Marines are able to eliminate huge waves of enemies without as much effort when not using the features of the Phazon Enhancement Device.
