The Hall of Stairs is a room in the Dark Agon Wastes in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is the Dark Counterpart of the Sand Processing. The room connects the Dark Oasis to Save Station 3, blocked by a Red Blast Shield.

Appearance and Navigation[edit | edit source]

The room consists of a main room with two connecting hallways, each leading to a door to a connecting room. The hallways contain little of interest. The central room has a lower level with a few Bladepods scattered around. A large pillar is in the center of the room. The southeast side of the pillar has a Light Lift Crystal that can be activated using the Dark Beam to lower the pillar. It can be used afterwards to access an upper level, which allows access to the east hallway, which has the door to Save Station 3.

This is a powered door system. Low-level energy shield on door to prevent activation by local creatures. Weapon fire of any type will disrupt the shield and open the door.[1]

There is a Blast Shield on the door blocking access. Analysis indicates that the Blast Shield is invulnerable to most weapons. A Missile blast might damage it.[2]
