Airthorn

Airthorns are flying mechanoids created by the Luminoth to patrol local airspace. They travel in packs for safety. Their size and speed made them especially useful until their programming failed and they went rogue.[1]

Airthorns only appear in the Dark Transit Station, and because Samus can only traverse that room while in Morph Ball mode, they cannot be scanned during normal gameplay. The planned scan data still exists in the game data, however.
