Bounty Hunter
A bounty hunter, or space hunter according to the Metroid manual, in the Metroid series is a space-oriented mercenary ready to be hired for firepower. The series' main character, Samus Aran, is among the most famous of the bounty hunters. Bounty hunters are extravagantly expensive, as noted by Adam Malkovich in the Metroid manga.[citation needed] The two major warring factions, the Galactic Federation and the Space Pirates, are among the Bounty Hunters' most profitable employers.
Known Bounty Hunters
Samus Aran

Samus Aran is a human female raised in a mining colony on the planet K-2L. After an attack by Space Pirates, led by Ridley, left her homeless and orphaned, she was taken by the Chozo to their homeworld, Zebes, who infused her with Chozo blood and gave her a bio-mechanical suit to withstand the harsh conditions of their world. Eventually she joined the Galactic Federation and entered the academy. After a mysterious period of absence, Samus returns as the Bounty Hunter she is known as today.
Rundas

Rundas is a male Phrygisian born on a moon of Bes III who appeared in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Rundas possesses his species' ability to spontaneously generate and manipulate ice, which he utilizes expertly as a means of both attack and evasion.
Ghor

Ghor is a cyborg who appeared in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. This Bounty Hunter lost 94% of his original body mass while defending the planet Wotan VII. He is capable of merging with larger mechanisms, most notably his armorsuit which doubles as his gunship. These merges are often accompanied by a shift in demeanor.
Gandrayda

Gandrayda is a female shape-shifter who appeared in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Her metamorphic abilities allow her to assume a wide variety of forms, both organic and artificial.
Weavel

Weavel, once a Space Pirate, is a cyborg who appears in Metroid Prime Hunters. A prior confrontation with Samus Aran left him mutilated, necessitating cybernetic implants.
Kanden
- Main article: Kanden
Kanden is an artificial being created in a lab experiment who appears in Metroid Prime Hunters. Intended to be a perfect soldier, Kanden escaped and assumed the role of a formidable Bounty Hunter. He was bioengineered with genetic material from the galaxy's most dangerous predatory insects, a part of his design which manifests itself in the Stinglarva transformation. He is also surrounded by a disruptive electromagnetic field, the voltage potential of which is comparable to lightning storms.
Trace

Trace is a male Kriken who appeared in Metroid Prime Hunters. He is exiled from his own empire as a rite of passage and possesses deadly Kriken military equipment, including the Triskelion, a metamorphic biotechnology.
Noxus
- Main article: Noxus
Noxus is a male Vhozon who appeared in Metroid Prime Hunters. His primary concern is with the exacting of justice in the galaxy.
Spire
- Main article: Spire
Spire is a male Diamont who appeared in Metroid Prime Hunters. He aspires to one day explain the mystery surrounding the disappearance of his own race, of which he is the last remaining member.
Sylux
- Main article: Sylux
Sylux, a creature of mystery, harbors an intense hatred for the Galactic Federation for undisclosed reasons. Its gender and species are unknown.
