Brinstone

From Metroid Wiki

Brinstone is a material used sporadically in the Metroid Prime series. It is susceptible to concussive blasts, and is mentioned alongside Radion as substances that can be destroyed with Missiles.[1][2] Samus Aran encounters Brinstone in three locations in Metroid Prime, in four locations in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and just once in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

The Brinstone structures on Tallon IV were a Brinstone wall in the Ruined Gallery,[3] the bust of a Chozo Shaman in the Chozo Ice Temple,[4] and the weakened pillar sections in the Tower of Light.[5]

On Aether and Dark Aether, the Brinstone structures were a fractured section of a Half-pipe structure in Sand Processing,[6] a statue in the Doomed Entry,[7] and pillars found in Mining Station A and the Mining Plaza in Agon Wastes.[8]

Finally, Samus encounters a Brinstone section of cliffside on Bryyo in the Hidden Court.[9]

Scan Data[edit | edit source]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Brinstone Wall)
Located in: Chozo Ruins - Ruined Gallery

Stress points present in Brinstone wall. A concussive blast may shatter it.[3]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Chozo Shaman)
Located in: Phendrana Drifts - Chozo Ice Temple

This is a statue depicting the bust of a Chozo shaman. Several stress fractures can be seen running along the surface of this Brinstone object.[4]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Brinstone Pillar)
Located in: Chozo Ruins - Tower of Light

Large stress fractures can be seen on the surface of this Brinstone pillar.[5]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Half-pipe)
Located in: Agon Wastes - Sand Processing

Structural analysis complete. Stress fractures detected. Decomposure of Brinstone alloy within wall has weakened it. Structural integrity critical.[6]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Pillars)
Located in: Agon Wastes - Mining Station A and Mining Plaza

Structural analysis complete. Structural integrity of Brinstone object at critical.[8]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Statue)
Located in: Dark Agon Wastes - Doomed Entry

Object analysis complete. This statue conceals a Luminoth device. Outer shell of the statue is composed of Brinstone. Explosive damage may weaken or destroy it.[7]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Cliffside)
Located in: Bryyo - Hidden Court

The Brinstone in this section of the cliffside appears to have weakened over time.[9]
