The Cortex CPU is a room in the Vesper Defense Outpost. It is divided into two sections.

One section of the room acts as a Morph Ball puzzle. Found in this area are platforms that Samus can jump on using Morph Ball Bombs. She can obtain a Missile Expansion by using these platforms.

The other connecting section contains the central processing unit and the Cortex Chamber, which controls the entire neural ensemble.[1] By using her Scan Visor, Samus deactivates multiple panels that deny access to the Battlehammer. After this, she rolls to this power-up through a Morph Ball tunnel. A Green Force Field must be destroyed to exit this section after obtaining the Battlehammer.
