The Dark Suit is a Luminoth xenotech that can be used in tandem with the Power Suit built for Samus by the Chozo. It was constructed for easier passage through Dark Aether's poisonous atmosphere after the war with the Ing necessitated regular visits to the dark world. It was originally worn by the Champion of Aether, but was taken by the Ing after her death.

This suit gives Samus the ability to walk in Dark Aether without hindering dependence on Light Crystals or Light Beacons. Although she still takes damage from Dark Aether's toxic environment, it drops the damage rate from five units of energy per second to only one unit per second. This suit is still susceptible to other obstacles in Dark Aether, such as Ingstorm and Dark Water. The Light Suit, eventually given to Samus by U-Mos, completely negates the effects of Dark Aether and its obstacles.

The Dark Suit is acquired after the destruction of Amorbis in Dark Agon's massive Temple. The Amorbis apparently encased the suit in a biogenerated Dark Sphere, which provided dark energy to them. Repeated concussive impacts to the Dark Sphere eventually lead to its explosion, and the Dark Suit was revealed.
