The Kriken are a vicious race that is one of the most hated in the galaxy.[1] Their bodies have a unique, slender exoskeleton, which is apparently more fragile than it appears.[2]

The Kriken apparently have a large empire that covers much of the galaxy. Most of what is known about them is derived from what is revealed about Trace. Every member of the Kriken race, upon reaching a certian age, is exiled as a rite of passage. They are not accepted back into society until they have expanded the Kriken Empire, which undoubtedly contributes to the Empire's ruthless expansion.[3]

The Kriken are technologically advanced and equip their soldiers with military biotechnologies, most notably the metamorphic technology used by Trace to transform into the Triskelion.[4]
