• 18th November 2012: The Wii U launches today in North America! Though no Metroid games are currently announced for it, players can enjoy a Metroid inspired mini-game in Nintendo Land called Metroid Blast.
• 3rd July 2012: Metroid Headquarters has announced their second annual MHQthon! The marathon will take begin Friday, July 13th, 2012 8:00 CDT and consists of playing through each of the Metroid games. Metroid fans are encouraged to watch, as any donated money throughout the marathon goes directly to the Child's Play charity. Throughout the marathon, viewers also may participate in a broad chat among other fans.

16th March 2012: F-Zero Wiki has been inducted into NIWA, any fans of the series should check it out.
