Properties

Toxic gas naturally produced by Preeds

Nohadin Gas is a toxic substance carried by Preeds.[1] The gas is released violently if the Preed is destroyed, acting as a potent defense mechanism that often proves fatal to the attacker. The remains of a Luminoth in Torvus Bog indicate that the cause of death was Nohadin Gas, suggesting that it can cripple much stronger organisms.[2]

The gas mimics the effects of Meta-Viprium Gas produced and secreted by Puffers. However, while Puffers, and therefore Meta-Viprium Gas, are naturally occurring in their environment, Preeds are cybernetic organisms that have either been enhanced or genetically engineered by Space Pirates, and by extension Nohadin Gas may also be an artificial substance.

They carry lethal Nohadin gas for use as a defense mechanism. If a Preed is ruptured, the gas within it is violently released. This toxic cloud often proves fatal to the Preed's killer.
