Path of Eyes

From Metroid Wiki

The Path of Eyes is a room in the Temple Grounds. The room connects the Hall of Eyes, the Windchamber Gateway, and the Torvus Transport Access, the first two are blocked by Green Blast Shields. The other door is blocked by a gate that can only be lowered using the amber upgrade to the Translator Module.

Appearance and Navigation[edit | edit source]

Since Samus cannot collect the Super Missiles until she travels through this room, she must enter from a Portal in the Abandoned Base. The room is essentially a long hallway. Starting from the Hall of Eyes, the room starts in a small room. When Samus first enters from the Portal, she will see a Shrike-Class Assault Skiff flying away in the second room. Two Pirate Troopers will then jump down, but will be quickly possessed to become Dark Pirate Troopers. A block will block the way forward, bu can be moved by hitting the purple crystal on it with the Light Beam.

When Samus enters the next room, a Pirate Grenadier will appear above and attack. In order to access the ledge above, Samus must hit another block on the east side of the room with the Light Beam to move it into a position to act as a step. The door to the Windchamber Gateway is behind another block on the north side of this small room. The next open section has a small layer of water on the bottom making jumping difficult. Another block must be moved to act as a step to a higher ledge. This will lead to the final room with the gate blocking the door to the Torvus Transport Access. There is also a small Morph Ball tunnel that leads back to a small alcove off the first area. This alcove looks onto the purple crystal in a block blocking the alcove's access from the main area, and also has a Luminoth Lore entry in it. Once the block has been moved, Samus can use the tunnel as a shortcut through the room. A number of War Wasp Hives will appear on later visits, and will spawn War Wasps until destroyed.
