Pirate Homeworld
The Pirate Homeworld is a place that Samus Aran travels to in her journeys. It only appears in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Despite the name, the planet has not been confirmed as the original homeworld of the pirates. After Dark Samus took over a force of pirates in space, she and her forces brought a Leviathan to impact the planet and give Dark Samus full control of the pirates. The planet's atmosphere has a low pH levels[citation needed], causing acid rain that penetrates Samus's armor. However, Samus obtains and equips a suit upgrade known as the Hazard Shield that protects her from the acid rain. The planet has many Transit Systems which make it easier for her to get around. One transit system has no train, so Samus must travel through with Demolition Troopers to destroy the door leading to the Leviathan seed. In the Pirate Homeworld, Samus will face Gandrayda and the Pirate Commander. She will also battle Omega Ridley in the planet's Leviathan. Samus must find a path to to a transporter on the planet to take control of a Leviathan that allows the Galactic Federation to open a wormhole to Phaaze.
