The Sentinel of Aether is the Luminoth Sentinel responsible for the protection of the planet Aether and the sentient lifeforms living on it at any given time. Since the founding of Aether by X-Qar, its first Sentinel,[1] there have been five Sentinels of Aether. The Sentinel when Samus arrives on Aether is U-Mos, son of V-Mos, who was a Sentinel prior to his appointment. The four Sentinels who oversaw the Luminoth before U-Mos have statues erected in their honor in the Hall of Honored Dead in the Temple Grounds.
