What Goes Where[edit source]

As of right now, the infobox on this page indicates that White Doors appear in all Prime games, Fusion, and Zero Mission. Of these, I've only beaten Prime and Echoes, so I can't speak to the others. However, I know that the Echoes white doors are officially called "White Hatches" in the manual and are opened by the Light Beam, not the Ice Beam. Are we going to make these two separate pages?

I guess what I'm asking is this: Are we going to organize these door pages based on color only, without regard for what weapon is required to open them or the official name discrepancies, or are we going to create separate pages for the various incarnations? Each has pros and cons; a compiled article would provide a lot of info in one location and be lengthy, but separate pages (while potentially short) would allow for ease of linking and put an end to any potential confusion. Thoughts? Embyr 75  --Talk-- 23:29, 13 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm still playing through all of them myself, so I've been doing a bit of extrapolation. In my experience on MediaWiki projects, it's a lot easier for people to correct errors than it is to create "new content," so I thought I'd create the page, put some basic information on there, and let the vultures go at it (or myself, as I found out new information). As for White Door/White Hatch, they sound entirely different, and I would say that they deserve separate pages. I mean, for the purposes of Metroid, a door is about what opens them and how they work, so if they're different on that fundamental basis, I'd venture they're different. — Jyavoc (talkcontrib) 02:53, 14 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
