Welcome[edit source]

Welcome to Metroid Wiki

Metroid Wiki Logo Large.png

Hello, Arcwarioman, and welcome to Metroid Wiki! We're glad to have you here, and we hope you'll stay and contribute. Make sure you check out our help guides so you can learn the ropes and policies. Make sure you also check out the Discussion Center, our community hub page where you can talk with other editors. Most importantly, enjoy your time at Metroid Wiki. - The Metroid Wiki Staff

Few things[edit source]

A few things about editing here. First, please do not add battling strategies to articles, you can mention what weapons they are most vulnerable to but actual battling strategies are not allowed. Second, please do not upload watermarked images. Regarding other images, please make sure that there are not versions of the file already uploaded. File:Echoes Dark Samus.png is the same file you upload, just higher resolution and transparent (which is preferred over solid backgrounds). For the sake of giving you more experience, would you swap the image on your page for the better one? Just be sure to add an image size ([[File:Echoes Dark Samus.png|250px]] would make it the same size as the one you have on your page already.) Finally, when you added an infobox to the Phazon Grub page, you used the wrong one ({{Room-infobox}}). In that instance you would use {{Creature-infobox}}.

If you need help with anything, just let me know. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 22:23, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Other Suggestions[edit source]

Hey Arc! I answered the question you asked Metroidking on his talk page. Here are a few more pointers to cover the basics of wiki editing:

Use the Show preview button, beside the Save page button, to check your edit for errors before you save. That way, you minimize the amount of edits per article, which helps out the staff, keeps the Recent Changes clean, and keeps a load off the servers.

Lastly, the image you uploaded here [[:File:M2 C Samus LightSuit01 ad.jpg|]] is a duplicate file of this one File:Light Suit mp2 Artwork.png, but the latter is transparent and better quality. Be sure to check the pages that will have the images you want on them (or the proper category; here's a list of all the categories, or you can check the popular categories on the Main Page).

I hope that helps! Feel free to check the editing help page for more info, or ask any of the staff! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 18:06, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks!!! I think it looks better then the other one and thanks for the info!!--Arcwarioman 19:25, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No problem! Here's some more hints: Usually we keep conversations on one talk page, meaning if you ask a question on someone's talk page, they will answer there, or if you are asked a question on your talk page, you should answer here.
Thanks for getting the Jelzap article started! One tip though: You used the Species infobox instead of the Creature infobox. Species are for races like the Chozo or the Luminoth, and Creature is for wildlife/enemies. Easy to get them confused, I know!! But don't worry about it, little errors like that are how we all learn.
Lastly, about watermarked images: Removing a watermark as in the example I posted can be pretty tough. If the watermark is off to the side you can sometimes crop it out, but otherwise you'll just have to find a different image - the purpose of a watermark is to make it so other sites can't take credit for it, and therefore they're intentionally hard to remove!
Anyway, hope that helps. If you have another question, you can leave it here. I'll see if you change your talk page on the Recent Changes. =) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 20:37, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks!! Another question...To "crop" or to remove a watermark, do you need adobe flash or adobe dreamcaster or whatever?--Arcwarioman 21:20, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I personally like to use GIMP, which is a free program you can download online. Cropping is pretty simple though, you can even use Microsoft Paint (which comes free with your computer if you're using Windows) to color over a watermark or crop it out and it'll do the job credibly. Whatever image editing program you like. =) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:58, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks!!! A watermark is a logo, right? And what if you are using a library computer?--Arcwarioman 22:35, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That's right, a watermark is text or a logo impressed on the image to identify the owner of the media. A library computer, huh? Hmm... I don't have much experience with that. Assuming your library computer allows you to save files and edit them with MS Paint, I guess it's fine to use that if you remove your work from the computer when you're done. But again, that depends on the Library's computer rules. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 22:55, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ACCKKK!!![edit source]

Theres nothing I can help with!! I can do enemies on metriod prime series, THATS ALL!!! I want something to do!!!!!!--Arcwarioman 21:33, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey there! No need to panic, everyone has something to contribute!! There are still several enemies from the Prime series that don't have pages. Look for red links on these three templates (red links are links to pages that don't exist yet): Template:MP Creatures-nav, Template:MP2 Creatures-nav, and Template:MP3 Creatures-nav. Other things we always need help with are spelling and grammatical edits, creating articles for rooms, or just improving on what we already have! There are LOTS of Stubs that need expansion! Also, I answered your infobox question on my talk page. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:59, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The Omega pirate( Now My List Of Awesome Stratagies Discussion!)[edit source]

Why do people say that the Omega Pirate is the hardest boss in MP. hey, Ive heard that he is possibly the hardest boss in the Metroid series. what does you guys say about that?--Arcwarioman 14:37, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh man, no way! I mean I don't know about Metroid Prime, I guess relatively speaking he's one of the hardest in that game, but the bosses in Echoes are way harder! The Boost Guardian is notorious for being tough because it's so fast and your health is literally being sucked out of you the entire battle, and the Emperor Ing/Dark Samus combo is a pain, too, especially in light of the Ammunition system. I'd rather fight the Omega Pirate, with my unlimited charged Plasma Beam shots, any day. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 18:47, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I agree. Echoes has way harder bosses. Like Quadraxis and the Spider guardian and Alpha Blogg( the latter 2 are hard if unprepared). And Echoes isnt the only game with hard bosses. MP3 has Moganar and other bosses that kicks butt. The other games bosses I havent challenged heck I havent played them yet. But I disaggre with the so called unlimited Plasma Charged shots. they are really not unlimited( the flame thrower isnt anyway). --Arcwarioman 20:17, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well yeah, the flame thrower is limited by missiles. But at least I can keep shooting my Plasma Beam, unlike the Annihilator which eats all my ammo until I'm stuck with just Power Beam shots!!! O_O I hate when that happens! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 20:23, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Did you know that the super missle is arcwarioman-recommended for defeating him.. What I do is that I Destroy his tissue with the charge power beam..As I said on the other talkspace(Metroid king's I think) that I cant be hit, Im that evasive. Then when he is gone invisable as I say I ignore the pirite go x-ray and when he apears I shoot 1 super missle and he immedianttly stops healing and dissapears again. Rinse and repeat. The Super Missle is the brutes weakness! Its damage almost cripples him! --Arcwarioman 21:15, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, he's definitely weak to concussive weapons! Haha, rinse and repeat! Love it! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:18, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Whats youre stratagy to the Omega Pirate?--Arcwarioman 21:20, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I usually take out the Trooper Pirates when they show up cuz they ANNOY ME but other than that I just orbit around him shooting charged shots, and if I feel my personal space being encroached upon I'll Boost Ball away. I think the Super Missile is probably more effective but I get so MAD when his big meaty hands get in the way that I think it's better for my blood pressure if I just use the Plasma Beam. XD Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:23, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

From meaty to hamburgery!!!lol!!!--Arcwarioman 21:25, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hahahaha exactly!!! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:26, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ok lets talk a different boss now. How about Prime Himself?--Arcwarioman 21:27, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ah, Metroid Prime. I love its intro, hanging there all creepy like. It's a pretty straight-forward fight though, you can only use beams/beam combos of the proper type. I personally find it easiest to use the Wave Buster when I'm allowed to, cuz it targets his face and you get to deliver a nice steady stream of damage. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:30, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I do that to ... the Wave Buster anyway. But I dont do just that, I use all the Super Combos, Like the Ice Beam's. The Ice Spreader is nice, It explotes its vunnurabilty of ice. It commpletly freezes it then I luanch a missle at it, The missles instant! tHE wORST ONE TO USE IS THE fLAME THROWER IT ALMOST IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TOUCH HIM tHAT WAY!! lIKE i TRYING TO LIGHT HIM LIKE A CANDLE AND IT HARDLY DAMAGES HIM!!!O_O But atleast the Wavebuster really damages him. How about His Core form. Or fight# 2?--Arcwarioman 21:37, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ugh, yes, the Flamethrower is so hard to use. -_- Hmm, I guess I don't really have a strategy for that form. I just shoot, evade, and look for puddles of Phazon lol. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:55, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
What I do is when He spawns Phazon and Metroids, is I rolled over to the pool of Phazon and Powerbomb at the pool. That takes care of pesky Metroids. Then I switch visors and attack Prime Himself. Rinse and Repeat--Arcwarioman 22:40, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah that sounds like it's probably the most effective way. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 22:54, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It is effective, with the Powerbomb taking care of the Metroids I can focus on shooting the Hyper Beam at Prime, it really doesnt give Prime a chance of hitting me. You going to try this stratagy?--Arcwarioman 19:26, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, probably the next time I beat him I'll do that. I just finished the Omega Pirate on my image-taking file, so he's coming up soon! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 23:54, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So you are almost to Ridley now so for him I dont have much a stratagy but when he appears you usae the Wave Buster on his chest, almost like the Grapple attack from MP3, I think it was the Grapple that lets you drain and give energy to devices and enemies.--Arcwarioman 14:08, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm not a big fan of the Wavebuster strategy, while the Wavebuster works well on normal, on hard it is only good for wasting Missiles. What I do is Boost into his chest during the first phase of the battle (only works in NTSC, if you don't know what it does try it and find out), after that I stand a decent ways away from him so that every time he signals that he's about to lunge at me I can blast him with a charged Plasma Beam. While normally his hand would protect his mouth from getting hit, at a certain distance you'll be able to hit Ridley thus stunning him and leaving him open for rapidly fired Missiles (alternate between Y Button GCN.png and A Button GCN.png as quickly as you can, only three Missiles can be out at a time but if you're pretty close to him you'll be able to give a continuous barrage of Missiles.) Like the Wavebuster strategy, Ridley will be unable to rush at you, it's just not dependent on Missiles. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 18:20, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ah, another contributer to my collection of awesome stratagies... Thanks for the stratagy, 1 Question does the Power Bomb do anything to Meta Ridley?--Arcwarioman 21:03, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Power Bombs are useless against Ridley. If you want to try sequence breaking though (you should, it takes some practice but it can be a lot of fun having things like the Plasma Beam or Power Bombs much earlier than you are supposed to), Power Bombs devastate Thardus. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 21:15, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ha I bet they do, anyway thanks for that tip! How about the booster guardian? Anyone know how to beat him effectively?--Arcwarioman 21:20, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, don't get hit. In truth there isn't a fool proof strategy against it (unless you are super skilled, in which case follow these videos). Best thing I can recommend is to start out with the Light Beam, using charged shots as often as you can. When it starts boosting around the arena, go into Morph Ball mode and drop Bombs as often as you can to try to stop it from boosting. You try Boosty on hard mode yet? MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 18:58, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No, it must be like a pain just to get through his first boosting run. Those tricks are amazing! Ican tell that for a fewe of the he used sequence breaking. How about the spider guardian?--Arcwarioman 21:02, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey Man[edit source]

Good job on the Crystallite page!!! Just a couple reminders:

  1. The image you added to the logbook template was actually a piece of artwork. While that's fine for infoboxes and other places in the article, only the actual logbook image from the game should be used in the logbook template.
  2. Game names should be italicized. You can italicize names by adding two apostrophes to either side of a word, like this: ''Metroid Prime''.
  3. Keep making use of that Show Preview button where you can. You edited your userpage 8 times in succession earlier. Each edit has to be reviewed by the staff, and the RC logs every single edit we make, so the more condense we can make our edits, the better!

Keep up the good work, see you around! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:44, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I did that because I didnt know where the Logbook pictures are hidden. Thanks for the advice!!!--Arcwarioman 14:40, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, we don't have the logbook pictures "hidden" anywhere, we're still missing a lot so you'd have to upload them manually. Sorry about that.
One other thing, briefly: I've noticed a bit of heavy speculation in your recent articles in an effort to flesh them out. For example, on a previous revision of the Plated Parasite page, you wrote regarding their armor: "It seems to be made of a type of metal itself and looks like some of it is heated to high tempatures naturally." While those are interesting theories, we really have no proof of that, circumstantial or otherwise. It's just something you observed. Unfortunately, Wikis are for facts only. So while you might be right, we can't prove it, and therefore it shouldn't be in the article.
And a final note on using the Show Preview button: It really is important. Just while editing the Plated Parasite page I used it about 8 times. While editing this talk page, I've used it 5 times. I literally use it EVERY TIME I make an edit, no matter how small! It's very obvious on the RC whether people are using the Show Preview button or not when they edit, and it can make the difference between a good editor and a great editor. So really make a concerted effort to save only once. If you discover something new to add, that's one thing. But if you go back just to add an extra space or fix an image or add a {{clear}} tag, it's obvious that the Show Preview button wasn't used thoroughly. Keep at it! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 23:21, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks, Ill be more carefull next time!!! For the images, I dont really have the means to manually upload images (and I cant get stuff off the internet at the moment thanks to the Wii I am using at the moment.). I am sorry again for my mistakes when editing or creating. I just feel like its "Just to Small" know what I mean? Anyhoo, Ive been using the Show Preview more then I used to Thanks!!! Thanks for showing me my errors of my ways. Thanks for the tips and the warning!!! See you later!!!--Arcwarioman 05:28, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Creating user talk pages[edit source]

Hey there!

While we definitely appreciate the enthusiasm, the users you've been creating talk pages for are, in all likelihood, just "spam" users created by some kind of automation, and not real people. We don't create talk pages for these accounts. Otherwise, we'd have a bot go around and add them all automatically for us (we used to, but there are too many spam accounts now). You can usually tell which ones are spam accounts and which aren't by the names they choose. So, in short, there's no need to go around creating all those user talk pages for the fake accounts. Thanks for the efforts though. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 22:19, 8 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sorry, all the Admins were gone so I thought I was the only one here becuase I was the only one on the RC. Plus the only others there was were user created new accounts. It has felt like I was the one doing things on here, the only one, well atleast I made a new page. Im sorry for complicating things with the "spam" accounts, Ill be more carefull in what I do.--Arcwarioman 14:48, 9 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If you're not sure whether a user is a bot or an actual user, it's easier to just let the user do an edit. If they don't edit anything, chances are it's a bot. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 00:55, 10 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The number 304[edit source]

I think its amazing that my User page was accesed around 304 times. I wonder if thats just me,Embyr 75,Malake256,and Metroidking OR its the number of people that accesed my user page.--Arcwarioman 20:41, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

[edit source]

Its finally finished my logo is. Its sorta a rough draft but I (or someone else) will modify it.--Arcwarioman 18:33, 3 May 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Im gonna need to fix my logo. It looks funny.--Arcwarioman (talk) 19:16, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Im Back(for now)[edit source]

Im back after from being absent for so long , but I might be gone for a while again soon so I will try to do some stuff before working offline again.--Arcwarioman (talk) 23:45, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
