You guys know that there is already a Metroid wiki with 2,000+ articles, right? Why not help us out over there? The page layout you guys have done looks pretty nice! ChozoBoy 23:02, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

We're aiming to be independent from Wikia. Turboo 23:05, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Why is that? I don't see a benefit to rewriting articles found at Wikitroid. ChozoBoy 19:22, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yo, it's Triforce of the Gods from Metroid Database and Wikitroid. See, we've had run ins in the past where wikia wikis would tend to copy/paste whatever the hell they please. Bulbapedia, Zelda Wiki, and Mario Wiki would also find their Wikipedia links removed constantly, so we prefer to stay away from wikia all together.
Asking us not to do this is like asking us to abandon Zelda Wiki for Zeldapedia and we are never going to go to that biased piece of shit. Triforce (T C) 01:19, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm not following. The two links I pasted were examples of articles here that are (already) rewrites of Wikitroid articles. I don't know about the other Wikia wikis, but Wikitroid isn't biased. The admins there are about as open as you could hope for in a wiki. ChozoBoy 01:31, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's not about Wikitroid, but Wikia themselves. It's a money grubbing company that craps on the little guy. You say those articles are rewrites: One thing you will come to see, especially with another competing metroid wiki, is that obviously a lot of the information will mirror each other. It's just the way things go when it's wiki's on the same subject. The idea is, we do not support the wikia network, we support the right to have independent wiki's, and that's exactly what this is. What you Said

I don't see how we are causing problems to wikitroid. I believe that we can just both do what we do and keep our hands to ourselves. It's up to readers to decide whether they want to use wikitroid or Metroid Wiki. May the better one win. Garlic Man 04:46, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

As long as you'll retain from copypasting Wikitroid's article's, I'm sure everyone'll be fine with this.
Copy-pasting content from other sites is strictly not tolerated at Metroid Wiki, and when the staff are alerted to where this is happening, they will take action accordingly. -Melchizedek  talk 11:30, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
