Thank you

Hi Findow. Thanks for bring the whole TROLOLOL thing to my attention. I've gone ahead and banned him from the site. We have a couple of sysops on StrategyWiki who patrol the site every day to prevent this sort of thing, I guess I thought that MetroidWiki does not have the same type of oversight. If you see any other suspicious user activity, please bring it to our attention. And thanks for correcting the vandalism. Procyon 15:23, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You literally banned him seconds before I pressed the block button. Yeah, thanks for undoing the vandal's work Findow. Admins monitor the Recent Changes, so they pretty much know about every edit made and it's actually hard to miss a vandal. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 15:30, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Signature

To sign, write for tildes "~~~~", just type them out and your signature is the result. ~~~~ ---> --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 15:26, 1 August 2011 (UTC) Just try it out :D --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 15:26, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks for the info Malake! :) I figured there had to be something because everyone one of you guys use them.

~~~~
Right, except don't use the nowiki thing, just plain four tildes. Once you save, the four tildes transform into your signature. If I use the nowiki tags, the tildes don't transform into the signature. So just four tildes.
This is my signature: ~~~~
This is my signature: --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 16:29, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Previewed, it, I got it! Thanks Malake, you rock! :)
Findow 05:49, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Haha, no problem! You're one step closer to mastering the art of wiki *bows* :o --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 06:03, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
For future reference
Great job on the Super Metroid article first and foremost. Anyway, it's not necessary to link to something more than once in an article. Things are given links the first time they are mentioned, so if you mention Samus at the beginning of an article, for example, you can link to her page then, but if you mention her again, you don't need to link to the page again. Concerning links, when referring to plural objects, it's not necessary to do this: [[Space Pirate|Space Pirates]]. It's easier to just do this: [[Space Pirate]]s Besides, it looks neater in the coding. Metroid4Ever 15:31, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hey, I get how the ~~~~ makes a signature, but how do you make it so it automatically makes it in other fonts and sizes? I looked at the coding on how to change it, but I don't want to have to type all that every single time. - unsigned comment from Findow (talkcontribs)
To make a custom signature, follow these steps, Help:Advanced Functions. Hope that helped. --Nintendbob 11:41, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just do what Nintendbob said and follow those directions and you should be able to make you own signature. After the coding is placed in your preferences, the wiki will automatically place it on talk pages when you sign comments. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 17:56, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Awesome, thanks guys. :) Findow 04:12, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Watermarked images
We do not allow watermarked images here. There are a few reasons for this, but one of the biggest ones is a big watermark showing up in one of our articles does not look very nice. Also, will you add a link to the exact page that File:Echo Visor.jpg was taken, this will help us fill out our image sourcing template. Anyways, thanks for your contributions and I hope you'll stick around for a while. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 18:09, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
One more thing to add totally unrelated to the watermarked images, in the future please try to format room articles that you create in a similar fashion to preexisting room articles. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 19:27, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay, no problem. :) Findow 19:48, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Room articles
The next time you create a room article, would you please only include details that are relevant to the room? Details about boss battles that take place in that room, trivia about a boss that is defeated in that room, etc are unnecessary to a room article. Multiple Edits
Hey Findow! Thank you for your recent additions to Metroid Wiki. However I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! Hope this helps! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 01:00, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, I figured that part out a couple pages ago. Thanks for the tip! :) Findow 01:05, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Improvement Templates
Hi Findow!! Thank you for all the effort you're putting into creating new articles (especially room articles)! I just wanted to drop by and request that you start adding our different improvement templates, such as the image template, sources template, and stub template to pages you've created so people can continue to make them bigger and better!
For example, if you've created a page and it has no images (or needs more), use {{image}} to categorize the article in such a way that we know it's in need of some. Using {{sources}} and {{stub}} will let users know that an article needs more citations (like scan data) or length, respectively. Thanks in advance!! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 17:59, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks Embyr! I wasn't sure what to put to add the templates.
Imageless articles
Please remember to include {{image}} on (most) articles that are without images, exceptions to this are things that are merely referred to that don't really have a suitable image (like Ylla). MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 17:55, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I know, I was making those pages last night, but I couldn't remember to write it so the image banner would appear. Thanks :) Findow 04:26, 27 September 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
