Yoshio Sakamoto is man working for Nintendo. He was born in July 23, 1959. Sakamoto is a video game designer and the co-creator of the Metroid series. He worked as a director on the first Metroid and later directed Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Zero Mission, and Metroid: Other M. He also supervised the creation of the Prime series, developed by Retro Studios.

His career in Nintendo began in 1982, when he was recruited by Shigeru Miyamoto to work on Donkey Kong Jr.
