An Autoad hopping toward Samus

Autoads are robotic creatures presumably of Chozo origin that roamed freely throughout SR388.[1] The robots hop around rather then other methods of moving around. Autoads hop left and right in a small area, damaging Samus if she touches them. Their eye-like feature lights up as they hop. The purpose of creating these robots is unknown. Autoads can be frozen and used as platforms, they can be difficult to aim at considering that they're always hopping around.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Autoad seems to be a portmanteau of the words "auto" and "toad". The automatically running, self-sufficient robot accounts for the "auto" prefix. "Toad" is reflected by the fact that it constantly hops around.
