What is the current use of the templates within this category? It says that it contains shortcuts and things like that, but I don't see where this is necessary. I also find typing in [[Samus Aran|Samus]] no harder than typing in {{Samus}}. Do we really need these shortcut templates any more? The templates that use game abbreviations are used extensively in other templates, so those definitely are worth keeping. As for things like {{Samus}} or {{Adam}}, yeah, I don't use them either. —Embyr 75  ^--Talk-- 20:09, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

While it is true that the shortcut templates are not really needed, I think even a small decrease in the amount of time it you take when typing out articles is worth it. {{Subst:BSL station}} is much quicker than typing out [[Biologic Space Laboratories Research Station|B.S.L Research Station]]. I get what you're saying about the long names (although several long names with a shortcut almost never use the template). I prefer to use just a piped link or something when typing, so I'll use those. Bop1996 _{(Talk | Unfinished projects)} 22:39, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
