The G.F.S. Enkidu is a Griffin-class space vessel operated by the Galactic Federation. It is docked at Norion during the events of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The majority of its crew are on shore leave for the duration of Samus's stay on the planet, so it doesn't leave port at any point during her visit.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Like most Federation vessels, the G.F.S. Enkidu is named after a prominent figure in ancient Earth mythology. In the Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu was created by the sky god and raised by wild animals. He later befriended Gilgamesh, but died tragically after the gods condemned him for interfering with their will.
