Kanden is a hunter Samus encounters in Metroid Prime Hunters. He is a lab experiment where the desired result would have been a superpowerful, invincible Hunter, but something went wrong and Kanden escaped to seek the Ultimate Power.
Equipment[edit | edit source]
Volt Driver[edit | edit source]
- Main article: Volt Driver
Kanden's weapon is the Volt Driver. Any other character fires large yellow energy spheres straight ahead when charged. The attack is slow, but deals more damage compared to other weapons. Kanden's version allows the attack to very slightly home in on an opponent and briefly distorts the players screen upon impact, however; his shots are even slower.
Stinglarva[edit | edit source]
- Main article: Stinglarva
Just as Samus is able to transform at will into the Morph Ball, Kanden is also able to transform into an alternate form. His is a serpent with a detachable tail weapon, called the Stinglarva. The sting lays on the ground and deals damage to anybody who walks close enough to it. This form is one of the best at handling sharp corners and is good for evasion.

Kanden: A lab experiment gone awry, Kanden was created to be the ultimate soldier, immortal and unkillable. However, stress from the neural combat encoding sequences was more than Kanden's still-mortal brain could handle, and left him ferocious, deadly and dangerously unpredictable. Kanden broke out of the lab, and those responsible for his neurological alterations and surgical enhancements were not left alive. Still, there is one way that a brutally efficient killer in the galaxy can not only survive, but thrive: as an intergalactic bounty hunter. Unbound by morals or a conscience, programmed with an instinctual drive to hunt – and kill – Kanden is one of the very best. When he gets a message of an ultimate weapon in the Alimbic System, Kanden knows that this is his chance to prove himself the finest bounty hunter of them all.[6]
Trophy Info[edit | edit source]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- In the English version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the trophy for Kanden mistakenly states that it was a failed attempt at creating invisible soldiers. This error is not present in the Japanese version, which refers to "immortal soldiers" (不死の兵士) with the same wording as the Japanese Metroid Prime Hunters website.
