Genre First person adventure[1]

Metroid Prime 4 (working title) is a Metroid Prime game to be released for the Nintendo Switch. It was announced during the Nintendo Spotlight at E3 2017, and development is being led by Kensuke Tanabe.

While the development team was originally going to be a new one,[1] during an update video released January 25, 2019, Shinya Takahashi, the Senior Managing Executive Officer at Nintendo, states that Metroid Prime 4 was not meeting expectations. Due to this, the game development has been restarted and Retro Studios, the team that developed the first three titles in the Metroid Prime series, has been brought back to work on the game.[2]

Storyline[edit | edit source]

Its story is stated to tie together the events of the Metroid Prime universe, but nothing else has been shared with the public.[1]
