Mua is a large worm-like creature that lives in the acid-filled area, Kraid's domain. The creature doesn't appear to be affiliated with Space Pirates, although it attacks Samus as she enters his domain.

Samus Battles Mua

Samus encounters it after activating the power handholds. As Samus uses a handhold to traverse an acid-filled room, Mua reaches up and attacks her. The power handholds are the most effective way to avoid its attacks.

It is very limited in its attacks. It will extend out of the acid, trying to collide with Samus, or even bite and pull her into the acid. If it cannot reach Samus, it will spit projectiles that can be destroyed for Missiles or energy. If it misses Samus, it may embed itself in a block, allowing Samus to damage it. It has a weak area behind its jaw in the neck reigon. Any weapon can damage this vulnerable area. It is also capable of raising the acid. When it is defeated, the acid in the room will drain, revealing a Missile Expansion below.
