Scorchbugs are small, explosive creatures that live off of Fuel Gel. They only appear in Corruption's Bryyo. With Fuel Gel as their diet, they easily explode through any of Samus's shots or Missiles. They have a weak exterior and are easily destroyed. They, like most weak creatures, travel and live in swarms. They can be found in Bryyo's Leviathan, though not mutated in any way due to Phazon exposure.

Logbook[edit | edit source]

Logbook entry from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: Scorchbugs
First Location: Bryyo Fire - Temple Access
Scorchbugs are exclusively found on Fuel Gel-producing planets such as Bryyo. The tiny insects subsist entirely on the volatile gel. Like many creatures with this diet, they have taken on the ignitable characteristics of their food source. When shot with any type of weaponry, they burst into a small explosion, leaving behind only a scorch mark. It is from this trait that they have earned their name.[1]
