Spank Weed

Spank Weed is an unused name found in the data of Metroid Prime. It appears as textual data, a .rel file, and as filenames for sound effects. Based on the content recorded under those filenames, the term "Spank Weed" was apparently an early name for Reaper Vines. In the game's code, Reaper Vines are still referred to as Spank Weed.[1]
The phrase is found in the game's Metroid5.PAK in file aa54eb36.STRG.[2]
