Talk:Root Tunnel
Uh... this is a bit odd, but... As I was coming through Tallon Canyon, I got into this room, and I was walked through the corridor, I turned a bit to the left, shooting my Power Beam wildly to hit the Sap Sac. A bit after it explodes, I notice the message "Door cannot be opened with that weapon" appear. And no, it wasn't because of the Blast Shield, as I had opened it over 2 hours ago. My only theory is that I had shot the door to the Root Cave before going for the Sac, and then miraculously was able to fire a shot through the wall, and it hit the Plasma Beam door on the Root Cave. I don't actually expect anyone to look into this or anything, but I figured I should share. Who knows, there may be a door out-of-bounds in this room, with but a few milimeters peeking out through the wall. — {EspyoT} 20:52, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- If it's the original NA version, there's bound to be a lot of out of bounds stuff haha. That or you missiled a door or something. The out of bounds thing seems most likely though --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 05:46, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Well, that's the weird thing, I know the original NA version is broken to bits, but I was playing the PAL GC version. Pretty sure I didn't shoot a single missile. There aren't any missile or special colored doors in the Canyon, are there? Could've only been the Root Cave or something out-of-bounds then. — {EspyoT} 12:31, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Two years later, and I find out the reason for this! I stumbled upon the channel NanoPi, and after watching one of their videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CmiyALJMmM I notice they got the game to display the same message on the same room! Excitedly, I tested it on my (European) copy of the game, and could reproduce exactly the same steps. When I had the message happen in 2012, I didn't go out of bounds, but the acid ball likely took a similar trajectory and hit the wall. — {EspyoT} 21:39, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
