This article is about the Pirates with reverse engineered beam weapons. For the article about the standard Pirate military, see Pirate Trooper.

Beam Troopers are Pirate Troopers featured in Metroid Prime. They're armed with some of Samus's own beam weapons. Using data gathered from battles against Samus, the Pirates attempted to reverse-engineered her arsenal, and were successful in mimicking her beam weapons.[1]

While the Pirates' versions of the beams are far weaker than the Chozo versions, they are still much more powerful than the Pirates' usual weapons. The technology renders them impervious to other beam weapons, but vulnerable to the beam-type that they're using.

Trooper Pirates are found only in the Phazon Mines. They also act as reinforcements to the Omega Pirate.

Command would dearly enjoy turning Aran's weapons against her. We believe we can implement Beam weapon prototypes in three cycles. Aran's Power Suit technology remains a mystery, especially the curious Morph Ball function. All attempts at duplicating it have ended in disaster; four test subjects were horribly broken when they engaged our Morph Ball prototypes. Science Team wisely decided to move on afterward." —Space Pirate Data (Metroid Prime)
