Image Uploads[edit source]

Hi Bufo, first of all your image uploads are AWESOME!!! Keep 'em coming!! I just wanted to drop by to give you a proper welcome and also a few pointers that will make your image uploads even better. Don't worry about applying these to images you've already uploaded, I'll go adjust them for you. Just try to keep them in mind for the future:

  • Especially in room articles, try to capture as much of the room in a single image as possible. Look over the instructional videos at Help:Screenshots for demonstrations of how to do this. And you're right, at the moment there is a cap for image size uploads (I think it's 5 MB), so take that into consideration when compressing your images.
  • Use the Source Template (Template:Source) to source your images. Using it not only adds a license to your screenshots but also categorizes the image. You can watch a demonstration of this at Help:Screenshots, but basically this is the code you'll need to add to your upload summary:
{{source
|type=ss
|game=mp1
|screenshot=Bufo
}}
The |type= parameter denotes the kind of image (screenshot, artwork, boxart, etc), the |game= parameter is the game it's from (mp1, mp2, mp3, etc), and the |screenshot= parameter is an optional way to give yourself credit.
  • Finally, I noticed you were having a little trouble adding the images to pages! Don't worry about it, everyone hits snags at first. We have a Help Guide that will get you started with basic coding skills. Here's a rundown on how to add an image to a page: Use a set of square brackets to link to a page (for example, [[Luminoth]] becomes Luminoth) and do the same when putting an image on a page (for example: [[File:Metroid Wiki Logo Small.png|20px]] becomes Metroid Wiki Logo Small.png. The "|20px" denotes the size you want the image to appear).

Sorry if I overwhelmed you at all! Don't worry about trying to do anything perfectly, there's nothing you can do that's irreversible. If you have any questions at all, feel free to browse our Help Guide, or leave a note on my Talk Page or on this talk page (I'll see it because I practically live on the Recent Changes). Hope you have fun editing! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 17:06, 22 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
