Since Aether was split, it's planetary energy was split, as well. If one dimension was to gain control of all the energy, the other would perish. This provoked a lengthy war between the Luminoth and Ing, with the Luminoth on the losing hand by the time Samus arrived. Energy was exchanged via a Transfer Module, which bound to Samus after she defeated a Dark Alpha Splinter. Due to this bind, and Samus' lack of a functional ship, she agreed to help the Luminoth leader, U-Mos, reclaim the lost energy in the different regions of Dark Aether. | |||
