(Wow, a lot of speculation here on this article. Now it's about the room only, that's better.)

The Hall of Honored Dead is a room from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is located in the middle of the Temple Grounds. The room is a very large, open roof area. It is a place of worship to the Luminoth. In the corners of the room are statues of the first four Sentinels of Aether; X-Qar, Q-Cis, V-Mos, and J-Gnk. It also contains a very high ledge with a stable, yet unsafe, Portal to Dark Aether. There is also a corpse of a very aged Luminoth (4.2 centicycles) laying on the ground who died while defending the sacred place. In the center of the room is the Seeker Missile Launcher, surrounded by a security system set in place by the Luminoth.

The room is accessed from a Morph Ball tunnel that goes above the Path of Honor, as the main door from the Path of Honor requires the Seeker Missile obtained in the room. The security system in place around the Seeker Missile Launcher is very advanced and can only be deactivated by using the Boost Ball on the four Spinner devices at the base of the Sentinel Statues. She must rotate them in the proper sequence and the correct number of times. This aligns the pieces of the floor in the correct order. After doing so, a giant structure rises out of the floor that emits beams of ultra-high frequency waves at the containment unit to shatter and unveil the Launcher.

*The portal on the ledge can be reached by using advanced jumping techniques or just a cheating device, such as an Action Replay. Even if you do make it up there, Samus walks through the portal, yet nothing happens. This portal is eventually used in the final cutscene of the game to escape a collapsing Dark Aether after Samus steals back the last of the Light of Aether.

*According to the map of the Temple Grounds, the entire Great Temple is considered a part of this room. It is most likely that the image could not be put in the map unless it had room data, and so was integrated into the Hall of Honored Dead map image.
