- 13th June 2018: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been announced for the Switch. Samus returns as a playable character in both her armored and Zero Suit forms, while Ridley has finally been added as a playable character.
- 15th September 2017: Metroid: Samus Returns has been released worldwide!
- 6th June 2017: Two Metroid games have been announced: a continuation of the Prime series in Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch and a 2D remake of Metroid II in Metroid: Samus Returns for the 3DS. Prime 4 will be released on an unannounced date, while Samus Returns is coming September 15 2017.
- 3rd March 2017: The Nintendo Switch has been released worldwide. No announcements of a Metroid title have been made yet.
- 19th August 2016: Metroid Prime: Federation Force has been released for the 3DS in North America.
