In the 3D Metroid games, The missles rate of fire was slow. However, in [[Metroid Prime]] there is a technique that allows Rapid fire for the missle launcher. This technique, is easily executed by firing a missile followed by pressing the fire beam button to reset the arm cannon back to beam firing mode, followed by another missile. This technique can be used indefinitely as long as Samus has missiles to fire. Though it is possible to execute, this technique is not in the two following Prime games.
