A recent leak has confirmed that Ridley will appear as a stage hazard in the only Metroid stage shown off so far, although no screenshots have shown this yet.
There is literally no information about Ridley at all in the new Super Smash Bros., but Sakurai has been dropping several hints that he may, in fact, be a playable character.  We have no evidence in either direction, though.
