The SA-X was created from the X infected sections of Samus Aran's powersuit. The SA-X awakens in the Quarantine Bay and escapes using a Power Bomb. Like regular X, the SA-X can reproduce asexually. As a result, there were at least 10 SA-X on board the BSL Research Station near the end of Metroid Fusion.
