The '''Spider Ball''' is an upgrade for [[Samus Aran|Samus's]] [[Morph Ball]]. In its first appearance in ''[[Metroid II: Return of Samus]]'', it allowed Samus to scale nearly any wall while in Morph Ball mode. In the [[Metroid Prime (series)|Metroid Prime series]] however, the Spider Ball can only cling to magnetically charged surfaces, usually special [[Spider Ball Track|tracks]].

While Samus typically uses the Spider Ball to access hard to reach locations, she can use it in combat. Bosses such as [[Quadraxis]] and the [[Power Bomb Guardian]] have weaknesses that can only be reached with the Spider Ball. The [[Emperor Ing]] also requires use of the Spider Ball to climb on its magnetically charged chrysalis.
