'''Ridley-X''' (also known by his Japanese name of '''Neo Ridley'''), is the [[X Parasite|X]] embodiment of the space dragon [[Ridley]]. It was created by a [[Core-X]] holding the [[Screw Attack]] mimicking the frozen, and probably dead, body of Ridley in [[Sub-Zero Containment]]. Ridley's body may have been moved to the [[Biologic Space Labs Research Station|B.S.L station]] from the [[Bottle Ship]] along with specimens such as [[Nightmare]]. This is evidenced by the fact that Ridley's carcass appears in its same stance as it did when drained by [[Queen Metroid]]. Like Ridley and every other incarnation of the creature, Ridley-X proceeds to attack Samus, though for the cause of the [[X Parasite|X]] and not the [[Space Pirate]]s.

Ridley mainly by flying into Samus, causing contact damage by taking advantage of the large amount of area Ridley-X takes up. It can also breathe many homing fireballs at a time, making Samus's [[Space Jump]] a very useful tool. Ridley also turns to former use of its claws, gripping onto Samus and inflicting heavy damage over time. It also uses its tail to stab at Samus while she is on the ground.

Ridley can be attacked by charged shots of Samus's [[Plasma Beam]] and [[Super Missile]]s or [[Diffusion Missile]]s. Ridley is unaffected by Samus's other weaponry, the [[Morph Ball Bomb]]s, [[Power Bomb]]s, and uncharged [[Plasma Beam]] shots. Ridley's tail is invulnerable to any of Samus's weapons, even a fully charged Plasma Beam shot. This property of his tail, paired with its length means that it serves as an effective shield throughout their battle.

Upon defeat, Ridley-X will yield a resilient [[Core-X]]. Once the shell of the Core-X is destroyed, Samus can absorb the X, regaining her Screw Attack.
