Gamma Metroids are Metroids which have hatched from their familiar infant eggs, and gone through the alpha stage of their life. Gamma Metroids are the second in a series of Metroid evolution including Alpha Metroids, Gamma Metroids, Zeta Metroids and Omega Metroids.
Gamma Metroids are Metroids which have grown past their Alpha Metroid form. They are followed by Zeta Metroids, Omega Metroids, and, if the Metroid has the proper genetic coding, Queen Metroids.
