When possessed by the Grapple Guardian, the beam can adhere to most objects and will fire it when angered. The Grapple Guardian moves faster than a normal Grenchler allowing it to protect its vulnerable back. Samus must fire at its sensitive eye to anger it then force its beam to attach to one of the pillars in the chamber. Samus can then fire at its back. After its shell is broken, the Grapple Guardian will rip off the surface of the pillars preventing its beam from attaching to it but its eye can now take damage.
