'''Metroid Prime: Federation Force''' is an upcoming Metroid game scheduled to be released in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. Unlike most Metroid games, it is a spinoff and focuses primarily on a team of [[Galactic Federation Marine]]s.

Very little has been disclosed about the plot, sans for the fact that it takes place across three planets and involves the [[Metroid]]s, [[Samus Aran]], a team of [[Galactic Federation Marine|Federation Marines]], and taking place between the events of {{M2}} and {{Sm}}.

The game consists of three modes: An unnamed singeplayer mode and two multiplayer modes: ''Federation Force'' and ''Blast Ball''.

Upon its reveal at [[Wikipedia:Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015|E3 2015]], it caused fan outcry, due to the five-year wait since {{Om}}, as fans assumed the game lacked any form of singeplayer mode, Metroids, or Samus. This was proven false by the producer, [[Kensuke Tanabe]]. When the game was first revealed, a petition began on Change.org. Within 24 hours, it had 7,500 signatures.
