'''NARPAS SWORD''' is a code used in the original ''[[Metroid (game)|Metroid]]'' for invincibility and unlimited missiles. If a player enters the code in all caps, followed by zeroes, they will be at the beginning of the game with all upgrades, invincibility and unlimited missiles. [[Samus Aran|Samus's]] energy will not go below 30. Missiles can be used even when there is not a counter. All upgrades can be collected, but Samus can already use them.  Normally, the player can not die, but can still force game over by pressing Up + A on Player 2's controller while the game is paused.  This will make the game generate a normal password which does not provide infinite life and missiles.  If a player beats the game while using the code, they will restart the game with [[Zero Suit Samus]], with the same effects. This is the only cheat code ever programed into a [[Metroid (series)|Metroid game]].
