'''Phantoon''' is a boss that appears in the [[Wrecked Ship]] on [[Zebes]] in ''[[Super Metroid]]'', and is one of the four main bosses that must be defeated to gain access to [[Tourian]].  Unlike the other bosses, which must be found after much exploration of their respective areas, Phantoon must be defeated before [[Samus Aran|Samus]] can explore the rest of the Wrecked Ship.  For much of the fight, Phantoon will either be invisible or intangible; it may only be damaged when it becomes completely solid and visible.  It attacks using blue flames, often sending them out in a spiral pattern, a circle, in a row, or individually. ''Phantoon'' also appears in ''[[Metroid Other M]]'' as the final boss, in this game he is a giant version of himself but in an actuall boady. He will attack by shooting blue flaming eyeballs at you, he will also summon up to three small hands and black holes to bother you, his only other attack is if you stand to close to him he will attack you with his tenticals. For almost all of the fight ''Phantoon'' will be vonerable and you can shoot him with your charge beam or super missile, but there is so much stuff flying at you and so you will most likely not be able to get a super missile off, and even if you do there is a good chance that ''Phantoon'' will block it, and anyway he is an easy boss to fight and you shouldn't die even if you don't heal after the big fighting room right before him, so your plasma beam will be more than  enough, but if you want the fight to go a lot faster, than fine go ahead and try to use the super missiles.
