==Not to be Selfish, but==
== Staff Application ==
Could you promote me to Sysop? It looks like you and Nathan are the only ones that could edit Policy pages and whatnot, including the Main Page. I'll help out with that, along with other things to get the wiki going. In the meantime, I'll also be uploading images and creating Metroid articles(which I have done so with many images/articles so far). Also, don't take this as a greedy request to be promoted or anything; my intents are only to help in getting the wiki standing on four legs. I can totally understand you saying no to this. --[[User:Garlic Man|Garlic Man]] 01:37, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

:This really isn't my decision. I have referred you to Nathan, and he should get in touch with you. {{:User:Melchizedek/sig}} 02:01, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
I would like to become part of this staff. I am an excellent writer and an extreme Metroid enthusiast. I would like to see this wiki grow and I would like to take the commitment of helping this wiki grow. - [[User:JeKartaN1|JeKartaN1]] 19:51, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

== Userpages ==
:Hey JekartaN1 and thanks for your request. At the moment, Metroid Wiki is adequately staffed and does not require any additional admins. However as we move into the future and the wiki grows we will need more staff. Therefore, if you are truly committed to Metroid Wiki, you can do the following in the meantime. Continue to edit and show your commitment, skills and enthusiasm. Build up your knowledge of wikis, wiki software, team work, community spirit and social interaction with members, because they are more important traits for staff members than writing abilities. As you continue to edit we will be able to see whether you are suitable for the job and how you work with others. You must establish longevity and a respectable amount of edits to gain staff rights. Last of all, I must mention that you will need to become familiar with the standards of Metroid Wiki and it's philosophies, to understand why you should not be copying content from Wikia and what [http://www.niwanetwork.org/ NIWA] stands for.

Does this new wiki lack the special thing which keeps userpages off of the wanted pages? Because if it doesn't, I'd suggest getting it ASAP :P[[User:Neo|Neo]] 01:58, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
:Anyway, thanks for your application, and I look forward to seeing you edit and contribute to Metroid Wiki as a member. Perhaps one day you will make it onto the staff - but remember, staff positions come with a lot of responsibility that deplete the time you actually have to edit and write article content. Cheers. {{:User:Melchizedek/sig}} 22:53, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

:Extensions haven't been dealt with yet. What exactly is the 'special thing'? {{:User:Melchizedek/sig}} 02:20, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

==From ZeldaWiki==
I found out about this site via ZeldaWiki and I decide to pitch in my sadly my knowledge of Metroid is limited (this, however, should change as I have just started the Metroid Prime Trilogy)  As I create pages here on metroidwiki, I know there is information I cannot supply, so should I mark them as a stub or something? If so, how do I do this. Thanks and I am looking forward to extending my knowledge of both Metroid and Wikis in general. p.s-On Zelda WIki when you are editing, below the edit box is a box so you can easily access symbols that are not on a keyboard. Will this site eventually get one? Again, I know its new so im just putting it out there... -[[User:Sephiner Shaeld]]

:Hey, Sephiner Shaeld. Firstly, new sections on talk pages go at the bottom, and you need to end your posts with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>, so I know who you are and when the message was posted. As for the box of symbols under the edit box, that is on my list of things to do. As for the stub pages, you can mark them as stubs by placing <nowiki>{{stub}}</nowiki> at the top of the article. Hope that helps. :) {{:User:Melchizedek/sig}} 05:58, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
