In ''[[Metroid Prime]]'', it is found in the Life Grove in the [[Tallon Overworld]]. It is the only way to cross Metroid Quarantine A without sequence breaking by shooting the invisible platforms to find them. It is needed to see the [[Omega Pirate]] when it heals itself, and to see the [[Metroid Prime (specimen)|Metroid Prime]] when it cloaks itself. It is also needed to find the [[Artifact of Spirit]]. In ''[[Metroid Prime 3: Corruption|Corruption]]'', it is found in the [[Pirate Homeworld]] and is used the same way as it was in ''[[Metroid Prime (game)|Prime]]''. However, it can be combined with the [[Nova Beam]] to locate weak spots in enemies and defeat them in one shot. Visors that are very similar to this have also appeared.
