Hey[edit source]

I see you're one of the few active people on here in the near past, need any help with anything? Any projects need completing? MegaSchmoo 13:56, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there! Thanks for the offer. There's plenty to be done, as this wiki is still relatively young. There is a long list of Wanted Pages and Stubs, if you're a content writer. If you like to capture images, then this list of articles needing images could use your expertise. Finally, there are lots of pages lacking sources, especially rooms articles in which we like to add all available scan data.
Well, I hope you can stick around and edit! Please take a quick peek at our Quality Standards and familiarize yourself with our frequently used templates. See you around! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 15:19, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Stuff[edit source]

Hey, you seem like the only active user around here :D How are you? Fang (talk) 08:46, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there! Yeah, I'm the most active admin/editor at the moment, but there are others that swing by every so often. Everything really slowed down when a couple other admins went back to work/school, but this place is still up and running. :3 Good to have you around! Metroid Blast[edit source]

Couldn't find an article on Metroid Blast or NintendoLand, should there be an article on that? Fang (talk) 11:19, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi Fang! As you know, this wiki is still lacking a TON of articles, so yes, an article on NintendoLand and Metroid Blast would probably be appropriate at some point. I personally haven't been keeping up with the news (I know, I'm a bad, bad fangirl) so I wouldn't have anything to contribute on the topic without doing some research first. But you're welcome to get something started as you see fit. Of course, anything on NintendoLand shouldn't be absurdly detailed; a brief overview of the game followed by a more detailed explanation of it's Metroid elements would probably be best. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 23:20, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Sorry for the [almost] month late response; I'll create the article but I may not have enough time to add some of the more detailed aspects of the Metroid minigame such as the levels and enemies. So I'll expand it later (hopefully not a month this time). Fang (talk) 11:52, 10 December 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi Embyr! Sorry if I'm breaking in to a conversation here, but I've played almost all of the levels in Metroid Blast, but I'm a bit new to the coding. Is there anyway I could send what I know so someone else can type? BloBBloB (talk) 10:16, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi BloBBloB! Absolutely! Feel free to use the "Email this user" function in the toolbox on the left. But hey! Don't be shy about adding information, even if you aren't sure what to code! Someone will come along and tweak anything that isn't quite right. :) Consult the Editing Help if you don't know how to do something, or ask any experienced user on their talk page. Hope you stick around!!! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 20:56, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

German translations[edit source]

Hi, I was watching YouTube videos with Echoes gameplay in German, and I was wondering if German creature/room translations could fit in the corresponding pages. Some of these translations include Ing-Sturm (Ingstorm) and Reaktorkern (Reactor Core). --Wookiee123 (talk) 05:29, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey there! Absolutely! Use the Foreign Name Template (in conjunction with the Corresponding Header Template) to add other languages to the various articles. I speak a bit of German myself (though I'm working on Japanese, now), so if you need any help feel free to drop a line. :) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:36, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Diff Visibility[edit source]

I changed the way your Diffs look. What do you think? Give me some input and I'll change it accordingly. It's definitely super visible I hope. If ya like it I'll put it one the wiki's skin :) --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 20:41, 20 April 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ahh, much more legible. I'm no longer being blinded. :) Thanks!!! I think it would be great for the wiki's skin. Or any slight variation you feel might be better. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 05:24, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There we go, fixed, feel free to delete User:Embyr 75/quantumleap.css if you please :] --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 07:43, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Gunship interior[edit source]

I have one thing to say about that... awesome :D! I had know idea that Retro made anything inside the ship in Echoes outside of the intro. Did you snag those during the intro or during gameplay? MK 04:31, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nope, during gameplay!! I was just messing around and I noticed as I went to save that I could see a chair through the green windshield (I guess it's not technically a windshield, but you get the idea). Anyways, I used Freelook to put the camera inside ship, and lo and behold, there's a whole cockpit in there! I was so happy. :D Embyr 75  --Talk-- 17:07, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

External linking limitations[edit source]

Are we, as users and contributors allowed to make links to other sites within the article? I was wondering because I had seen that on the Metroid Recon page of this site there were many phrases that could be linked for ease of access... So are those links required to be internal, or can they be external too?

--Sixel (talk) 21:43, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there Sixel! You are free to link to external sites wherever appropriate. However, it is nice to link to internal pages first, if they exist, for the sake of continuity (the Wiki is first and foremost a center of information, not a link hub.) On the Metroid Recon page, you'll notice that we link to our own articles of those Metroid community sites first, and from each of those articles a reader can travel to the external sites. Gamespy, on the other hand, doesn't have a community page with this Wiki, and so we just link externally. However, Metroid 2002 generates a red link because we haven't created a page for the site yet. If we intend to create an article for it, however, leaving a red link is encouraged so it will appear on the Wanted Pages list.
Feel free to make any changes you like and don't worry to much about making mistakes. The admins can fix or revert anything that isn't quite right. ;) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 17:01, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Okay, thanks so much! I was just worried about having issues with copyrights and legalities because I don't want this site getting hit with copyright claims. --Sixel (talk) 22:36, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Luminoth Edit Question[edit source]

Hey, this may sound pretty random, but I saw that you edited the Luminoth page about where the Japanese version of MP2 Echoes references a Luminoth God. I don't doubt you or anything, but I am merely curious on what the reference is in words. You can paraphrase it, I just am curious on the general thing U-Mos referenced about it. I do not know how to read Japanese, nor do I have a MP2 Echoes Japanese script so I could use an app to translate it. So I know this ia random and all, but I would greatly appreciate it if you could satisfy my Lore-ist curiosity by tell me the actual reference. Thanks!

--Seraph (talk) 21:25, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there! Not random at all, I am lore-obsessed as well. Here's a screenshot of the dialogue in question.
And if you want the wall of text to copy and paste: しかし、ルミナスの神は、今一度我らに微笑みたもうた。そう、モジュールはイングの手を離れそなたの内に留まっておる。
Enjoy! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 03:36, 13 September 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you very much!
Using translators, I got "But also luminous God is once again on our viewpoint smile song. So the module left ing hands and stayed in him."
Do you happen to know a more accurate English interpretation? Like was U-Mos saying the Luminoth God was on their side because of Samus's arrival or something to do with the module? Who is the "him" when he says "stayed in him". Sorry for asking so much, its just I love lore and Echoes was one of my favorite games in the series. Thanks!
--Seraph (talk) 18:15, 13 September 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Haha! No worries! This is definitely the Japanese translation of the line U-Mos says in English: "But Fortune smiled upon us this day, for the Energy Transfer Module... is now bonded to you."
My Japanese isn't perfect either, but my own rough translation would be something like: "But the God of the Luminoth has once again smiled upon us. Yes, the Module has been taken from the hands of the Ing and has come to be within you."
U-Mos speaks in a really archaic way in Japanese so this may not be the most literal translation, but it's the sentiment, anyway. :) I think the translator used the word "stayed in him" because there's no subject of the verb in that sentence (typical in Japanese), so it inserted the word "him" in an attempt to create one. But when U-Mos said this sentence, he was definitely implying that the Module had come to Samus, not a "him." Embyr 75  --Talk-- 18:32, 13 September 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you so much!

Metroid Prime Trilogy help[edit source]

Could you help organize the release dates for the Wii U re-release of Metorid Prime Trilogy. If you look at the release dates on Wikipedia's MPT page they should have some sources that you can use. While the one I used to source the NA release date, the ones for Europe and Australia you can use personally. Also if you want to add it as well I should note after looking at the Wii U re-release of Super Mario Galaxy 2, it should be noted that the Wii U controls are incompatible with the digital re-releases. -Adv193 (talk) 21:45, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there! Thanks for your recent edits. I will take a look and do my best! =) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 04:34, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Friend Vouchers and Friend Credit[edit source]

I updated both page because of the real world events of the majority of the features from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (unlike the Wii U and 3DS that use the Nintendo Network). Also this information is in Metroid Prime Trilogy's information when I downloaded it today. Just thought you should know. -Adv193 (talk) 17:44, 29 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Extension:SearchBox[edit source]

Extension:InputBox seems to have a "type=search" option, so would that work? SearchBox hasn't been updated in years, so I'm hesitant to use it. -- Prod (talk) 01:59, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Didn't realize we had that at our disposal, I'll look into it. Thanks! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 02:22, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
