Shredders are aerial creatures found in Torvus Bog on Aether. They attack by exploding when they reach their targets. Weapons fire will merely cause them to fill with energy, but Samus can exploit this by concentrating her weapons fire until they explode.[1] A relative of the Shredder, known as the Shrieker, is also found in Torvus Bog.
