Map Stations are found in various areas of the Metroid series. They allow Samus Aran to download maps. Samus can then use these maps whenever she pleases to view and ready for her destination. These maps are usually optional, however in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, they are often required to locate Landing Sites.
